Farm Fresh Eggs
We are a poultry farm producing quality farm fresh eggs. Our hens are grass & fed with some feed that has no hormones or medicated feed. We give our chickens plenty of space to forage. We do not practice de-beaking or removing the tails, spurs, nor do we separate momma hens from their young if they have a hatching.
Chickens
We raise natural grass fed broiler chickens. No hormones or medicated feed are used. Ours are very tasty, fresh, & tender. Each batch takes 9 weeks to raise & we usually have a few batches a year. This year we are doing one batch with slaughtering slated for October.
Farm Fresh Turkeys
Our turkeys are raised from hatching to the freezer. All natural with no hormones, no medicated feed, & no vaccines. Only the best non-medicated feed is added.
GMO vs Non GMO & Our Philosophy
Humans have been modifiying crops for thousands of years & only since the late 20th century have we done so in a lab. GMO products like corn get a bad name because anything to do with genetics in a lab just freaks people out. According to the FDA GMO foods do not significantly cause allergies or cancer. Even the broiler chicks have been selectively hybridized, they are not considered GMO foods because of the fact it wasn't done in a lab.
So, what's the cause of so much allergies, the rise of Asperger's, Asthma, and other diseases. According to the American Academy of Allergies Asthma and Immunology the leading cause is "excessive hygeine theory" meaning that our living conditions today are too clean & children do not get as much exposure to germs and pathogens to teach their bodies to tell the difference between harmful & harmless germs & particles. Simply put, our bodies are confused! Our diets are out of control because the "food industry" uses un-natural processes to raise crops, poultry, & meat products. Too much of our food comes in a box! Much of the additives in our foods like BHA, sugars, and other preservatives can have our bodies all wonky & that creates issues for genetics.
Our food should come fresh from the farm to the table!
That's what God intended for us.
Our philosophy is to raise crops, poultry, & bees in the most natural ways without pesticides, herbicides, or other chemicals. We also will not withhold medical treatment from any of our girls, but we will sequester them until the treatment is over. We do not vaccinate our girls nor do we use cocidiostats like Amprolium. We treat our girls to mealworms, black soldier fly larvae, eggs, milk, oats, barley, green peas, earthworms we find around the farm, and high quality Purina chicken feed. Yes, we give our girls some Grade A raw milk purchased from another farmer.
We simply don't care to "pay to play" the "certified orgainc" game! When you buy from us you are getting great quality local grown food. If you want to come see our girls just call us for an appointment ahead of time. Our farm is constantly expanding & we're always adding livestock.
